Pitching to become the most serious player in the cloning kits business, Western Digital Corp, Irvine, California has teamed with Phoenix Technologies Ltd, Norwood, Massachusetts to develop ROM BIOS chips compatible with IBM’s full PS/2 line from the Models 25 to the 80. Western Digital will also take licences to the Phoenix XT, AT and AT-386 BIOSes. Each will market the products to its own customers independently. Western Digital

already has an IBM Micro Channel chip set.
