WebEx, Inc the San Jose-based provider of a web-based collaboration service, has closed a $25m round of funding, which it claims is the largest-ever in its market space. Contributors to the round included New Enterprise Associates, Walden International Group, Summit Partners Accelerator Fund and International Capital Partners as well as several major corporations, including Deutsche Telekom. The company’s services is designed to provide corporate clients with an easy way to conduct interactive, browser-based meetings through its WebEx.com site. WebEx says it will use the majority of the new funding to marketing efforts. As part of the funding agreement, representatives from NEA and Walden will be joining the WebEx board of directors.
