The TX and BX versions of the Pro series, as well as some models in the SZ range, will ship with a pre-installed WebEx client, from which users will be able to launch a standard WebEx Web meeting with documents, apps, video, whiteboard, and desktop sharing. WebEx offers conferencing as a service running over its proprietary MediaTone network.
Users of VAIO… are typically self-employed or work in SMBs without a centralized IT or support department, said Jun Koyama, marketing director for Sony VAIO in Europe. They are also unlikely to have expensive video conferencing systems or even meeting-room facilities, making online meetings an attractive proposition for collaboration with colleagues, partners, or customers. The Pro range also comes with built-in webcams and microphones, making the devices suitable for WebEx conferencing.
