Wave Systems Corp will integrate Zug, Switzerland based Fantastic Corp’s high speed broadband channel packaging and management systems with its own secure content distribution and consumption management system. The announcement was made at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas this week. The combination will enable the formation of an additional broadband content channel so that content publishers can securely distribute, license, sell and manage the usage of their software and content products over various broadband distribution systems. Fantastic’s technology lets users access broadcast information via its client software and lets broadcasters manage the collection and dissemination of content over different broadband delivery systems, such as cable, wireless and satellite networks. Wave’s electronic software distribution model enables the distribution of encrypted content via broadband, internet, satellite transmission, CD-ROM and DVD while also providing the needed end-user content subscriber management system.
