WAP games on the up

Wireless games maker Digital Bridges has announced that it recorded over 10 million WAP user sessions on its WAP games over the last 18 months. Mobile phone users have sent around 71.4 million minutes playing the company's WAP games during the same period.

Digital Bridges has a broad portfolio of games, ranging from tamagotchi-style virtual pets to adventure role-playing games. The company has recently developed WAP games based on Star-Trek and EA Sports’ FIFA World Cup game.

CEO Brian Greasley expects the number of WAP game players to grow significantly in the second half of 2002 and 2003 as new content is developed. Customers will also benefit, as WAP becomes less technology driven and more user-friendly.
