The deal will help support an £80m investment by Wansbeck Homes to provide upgrades such as double glazing, fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms and improved heating systems across its housing portfolio.

It is hoped the deal will reduce the amount of paperwork Wansbeck Homes’ maintenance engineers will need to complete. The company hopes this will result in quicker repair times and a more efficient service. Time spent on back-office processing of work orders, timesheets and material requests should also be improved by replacing the paper-based legacy system with Consilium Technologies’ service.

The housing association, previously part of Wansbeck Council, already uses TotalRepairs and TotalView from Consilium Technologies to manage its call centre and schedule repair appointments from the head office.

“Consilium Technologies has provided the team with an extremely robust, reliable and effective repairs system for the past few years, so as we moved towards a more mobile workforce, implementing TotalMobile was the natural progression. The strong relationship that we have established has enabled a smooth progression into mobile working, which will help us manage the pilot phase more effectively so a swift full roll out can be achieved,” said Andrea White, business unit manager, Wansbeck Homes.

Consilium Technologies, based in Antrim, Northern Ireland, employs 90 people throughout the UK. It provides software and supporting IT services specifically for local authorities and housing associations. Its clients include Edinburgh City Council, South Tyneside Council, Bradford Community Housing Trust and London Borough of Newham.
