Desktop virtualization firm Wanova has added enterprise features to the latest version of its hybrid desktop-virtualization offering Mirage 2.0.

Wanova said Mirage, which integrates client virtualization with server virtualization, gives IT departments in organisations full control over endpoints while helping users to customise their machines to their needs.

The new release adds on the original hybrid desktop virtualization concept and makes it enterprise ready by including server clustering, optimised software delivery for branch office environments and reportedly enhanced functionality to aid desktop support and compliance, the company said.

With Mirage 2.0, organisations can reportedly scale the Mirage server and underlying infrastructure as their needs change.

Wanova said the new software supports dynamic server clustering, with each server node supporting 1,500 clients.

The complete Mirage deployment can be managed from a single pane of glass and can leverage existing server load-balancing investments, the desktop virtualization firm said on its company website.
