WANG TO BUY CONVERGENT’s INFORMATICS LEGAL SYSTEMS

By CBR Staff Writer

Wang Laboratories Inc has signed to acquire the Informatics Legal Systems subsidiary of Convergent Inc – which bought from Sterling Software Inc. Terms were not disclosed, but Wang wants the business, which is based in Phoenix, Arizona, because it is the biggest value added reseller of Wang VS minicomputers. Its proprietary LTMS product has made it the largest US supplier of time keeping, billing and accounting software for the legal industry. Wang looks to enhance the product with its imaging technology.
