WANG SETS 1,000 MORE LAY-OFFs, CUTS US PAY 5%

In his first major action at the helm of Wang Laboratories Inc, Fred Wang, son of founder An, has set a string of drastic cost-cutting measures including lay-off of another 1,000 employees, and salary cuts across the board for US salaried staff. The aim of the measures is to cut expenses by 4% to 5% to return the company to profits by the fiscal fourth quarter to June 30 1987. Details in page three.
