Wang Laboratories Inc’s most valuable asset these days is probably its word processing software, and it has decided to offer a version of it for use with Microsoft Corp’s Windows as a software product under the name UpWord. The company is chortling that it has a word processor for Windows ahead of US market leader Wordperfect Corp. It has dynamic data links with both MS-DOS and Windows applications and can import text, graphics, images and data from other applications. It comes in a stand alone version for UKP400 and there is a LAN User Pack for any local network supported by Windows. The User Pack adds UKP245 per user to the cost of the stand alone version, which is then installed on the server. It is being offered through established distribution channels and dealers.
