Wang Laboratories Inc is looking for between $60m and $100m in the six months to June 30 from sales of its ingenious Freestyle system for transferring handwritten text onto a computer screen with optional spoken messages attached: the company says that it has orders for 1,000 systems so far, and looks to sell 30,000 by the end of its current financial year, and sees the thing being of particular interest in Asia, where most text is written in ideographic languages that are cumbersome to create by machine; Frestyle is the latest development in Wang’s long-term commitment to being a leader in image processing.
