WANG ADDS DUAL-CPU VS 7320

Wang Laboratories Inc has added its first multiprocessor to the VS line – the VS 7320. The new machine is a tightly-coupled symmetric dual processor model of its top-end VS 7310 business computer, rated at 3.3 MIPS, 1.9 times the performance of the single processor version but at just 50% higher price. Each CPU has 32Kb cache memory and main memory is 16Mb or 32Mb. Designed to support up to 192 users, the VS7320 is $350,000 with 16Mb, $390,000 with 32Mb, and upgrading a VS 7310 to a 7320 is $125,000. General US availability is third quarter 1988.
