WALKER TELECOMMUNICATIONS TO CLOSE MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION

Walker Telecommunications Corp of Hauppauge, New York finds that retail prices of cellular telephones in the US is falling so fast that the game is no longer worth the candle, and the company is closing down its mobile communications division: it is taking an unspecified charge with its fourth quarter figures to cover the closure; it did $915,000 net on turnover of $30.4m in the nine months to September.
