Walker Records Further Loss as Revenue Shrinks

By CBR Staff Writer

Walker Interactive Systems Inc, the San Francisco, California developer of e-business applications, has blamed Y2K and lengthening of the sales cycle for another dismal set of figures. In the third quarter to September 30, it recorded a loss of $3.1m, down from a profit of $315,000 on revenue that dipped 16.2% to $20.6m. For the first nine months, Walker produced a loss of $30m, down from a profit of $2.7m on revenue 5.2% lower at $69.9m. CEO Frank Richardson says this will continue to be a challenging year but he claims that the positive response to its deep e-business strategy has positioned the company for growth in 2000.
