Internet video specialist Vxtreme Inc has introduced a personal edition of its Web Theater streaming video product designed for smaller corporations who want to add motion and sound to their web sites. Web Theater, the personal edition lets users publish HTML pages that can stream audio and video on demand from existing web servers. It compresses video up to a ratio of 550:1, and using a supplied template enables users to create video enabled web pages without complicated HTML programming. Once the page is created, the files can be uploaded to a web server and viewed by anyone with a Web Theater client over an ordinary 28.8Kbps connection.
