VUDU, a video-on-demand movie service, has launched a new Android app which will provide users access to over 100,000 movies and TV shows.

The software also provides features like Download via Android app, 1080p HDX video streaming, 10 free movies, and UltraViolet collection.

VUDU general manager Prasanna Ganesan said the VUDU combined with Android, provides customers access to new releases, Hollywood favorites and shows.

"Since pioneering movie-on-demand, our mission at VUDU has been to give fans instant access to the greatest selection of movies and TV shows available, on as many devices as possible and with the highest streaming quality," Ganesan added.

VUDU is a subsidiary of Walmart Stores, available on Internet-capable HDTVs and Blu-ray Disc players from FUNAI Electronics, LG Electronics, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, SANYO, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba and VIZIO.
