VOLUME PROCUREMENT AMENDMENTS GO SIMPLE

By CBR Staff Writer

In the US, IBM also greatly simplified its Volume Procurement Amendments and eliminated transport charges for IBM products. The changes cut by more than 50% the number of contracts and supporting documents customers need for typical volume pacts. Customers sign a single contract for all volume purchases, and customers then need sign only a one-page addendum to make volume commitments for one or more products. In addition, the hardware and PC-DOS software groups have been reduced in number from 47 to just seven for commercial customers, who can choose 12, 18 or 24 month terms.
