Volksbank Malta selects TAS Group for SwiftNet connectivity services

Volksbank Malta expects to make substantial infrastructure and operational cost savings

By CBR Staff Writer

TAS Group, a provider of software services for electronic money, payment systems and financial markets, has been selected by Volksbank Malta to provide it with SwiftNet connectivity and support services through its Swift Service Bureau.

The TAS Swift (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) Service Bureau will provide Volksbank Malta with a resilient and secure connection to SwiftNet operated by certified Swift technicians that will enable the bank to make substantial infrastructure and operational cost savings.

Herbert Skok, managing director of Volksbank Malta, said: We consider TAS a reliable business partner and this consideration was the main factor leading to the decision to outsource the bank’s Swift infrastructure. The Service Bureau option delivers a competitive advantage in terms of business continuity, levels of service and operational costs. It gives us the assurance of Swift certified experts and offers the full range of Swift products and services.

Guido Pozzoni, Head of  Payment Systems Unit at TAS Group, said: When we started the new TAS SWIFT Service Bureau, we wanted to be able to pass on significant cost savings to our customers and at the same time offer them a superior production and disaster recovery infrastructure for their SWIFTNet related operations. We are proud of the Volksbank Malta choice and our commitment is to continue delivering our promises in supporting our customers to take the best from the SWIFT network and services.
