While Vodafone is the first operator to secure an agreement, other operators are expected to follow suit. Link is optimistic about the service and envisages a time when customers of any network will be able to use a LINK machine at any time to top up their mobiles.
For Vodafone the agreement is another step towards its aim of having 50% of top ups performed electronically by the end of 2003. The new payment service will also give customers further convenience when topping up their credit.
