Vocalis Tries Again in US

By CBR Staff Writer

Vocalis Plc, the Cambridge, UK-based supplier of speech recognition telephony products, is making a new attempt to crack the US market and has built up a team which will concentrate on pushing the company’s internet products and services. On the back of its success with UK ISPs, Vocalis will be pushing SpeechMail, which will enable callers to access email by phone; and SpeecHTML, that enables a company to offer a phone number where callers can hear the information on its web site. Loss-making Vocalist has had mixed success in overseas market. No one at the company was available to explain what happen to its previous venture in the US so it is unlikely to have been a success.
