VOBIS BUYS STAKE IN AWARD

Wrselen-based Vobis Microcomputer AG has paid an undisclosed sum for a stake in Award Software International Inc, Mountain View, which claims 25% of the world market for AT-alike BIOS software. The German personal computer maker says it sees big demand soon for system software Award is now developing. Award was bought last year by GCH Systems Inc, but it is run independently (CI No 2,728).
