VM SOFTWARE SEEKS TO BUY DB DATA TO MOVE INTO DB2 WORLD

VM Software Inc of Reston, Virginia has turned acquisitive, and its new target is privately-held DB View Inc of Reston, Virginia. It has a non-binding letter of intent to buy the company on undisclosed terms. DB develops, markets and supports products for use with IBM’s DB2, and VM, whose primary thrust is products for IBM’s VM operating system, sees it complementing its own systems administration products for the SQL/DS database system. It looks for completion early in 1989.
