VLSI Technology Inc, San Jose, California is now standardising on 1 micron geometries for its applications-specific integrated circuit product line. Included are the new VGT300 gate array family with more than 243,000 available gates, and the VSC300 cell-based family, with densities greater than 150,000 usable gates. Both feature gate delays under 350pS, for graphics, communications, computer and military applications. Production in April.
