Vlingo has debuted Vlingo 4.0 Plus, featuring Vlingo Everywhere, which allows users to speak text into any field where their BlackBerry smartphone allows them to type.
Vlingo has enabled BlackBerry users to use their voices to send a text or email message, call a friend, search the web, update their Facebook or Twitter status, create a note to self and more, by speaking to their BlackBerry smartphones. It will add to this feature set the ability to add text to every downloaded and native BlackBerry smartphone application and websites by speaking.
The company said that the Vlingo enables users to launch applications by voice and speak their commands and text entry and also read spoken text back to ensure accuracy.
According to the company, a new feature in Vlingo 4.0 Plus, Vlingo Everywhere, makes common tasks on the BlackBerry smartphone easier by interacting with instant messengers, BlackBerry Messenger, AIM, Yahoo! IM and Windows Live Messengerl; calendar entries and editing; websites (fill any text box); any messaging or email screen; address books (allowing users to speak new contacts) and other downloaded applications including Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones, BlackBerry App World.
Vlingo is available for the BlackBerry Storm series smartphones, as well as the BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Pearl, BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry 8800 series smartphones.
