Paris-based Vivendi, the world’s biggest water utility revealed plans on Friday to start listing its internet businesses on the Paris Bourse stock exchange. Chief executive Jean-Marie Messier told French business weekly Le Journal des Finances that the public offerings would start with the group’s games portal units.
Havvas Interactive is, through Won and Battle Net, the largest in the United States with eight million active visitors. We are going to develop this gateway in Europe before the end of the year. Next year it should be listed on the bourse, Messier said.
The 146-year-old French utility has professed ambitions to become Europe’s leading multimedia company using its pay-TV, phone and publishing units to underpin internet services, spanning access, content and e-commerce.
