The New York-based E Ware division of Visual Cybernetics Inc has announced an add-on package for Lotus Development Corp’s cc:Mail which is designed to enable users to incorporate speech and sound files within electronic mail messages. Version 2.0 of eNote Messaging for cc:Mail also provides filter settings giving users control over which messages are delivered to the screen, and which are stored in the mailbox. The speech and sound facility only works when two eNote users are communicating, and enables users to specify when they want the messages to be read aloud. In beta testing and due to ship next month, the add-on is to have a US list price of $50 for a single user, although the company is bundling software for a second user free of charge for a limited time. European pricing and availability will be announced later.
