Cloud Spectator’s latest report for the IaaS sector found that Virtustream outperformed 14 IaaS leading providers from Garnter’s Magic Quandrant.

The analyst firm, which compared performance, application latency, application throughput and HTTP performance over two weeks, said that Virtustream’s xStream IaaS cloud had done ‘significantly’ better than AWS, Microsoft Windows Azure, SoftLayer, IBM SmartCloud and HP Cloud among other providers.

The report found that Virtustream outperformed the other cloud providers by 11% based on price and performance and 110% faster in throughput for Apache HTTP Serve.

Kevin Reid, CEO and CTO at Virtustream, said: "These tests reconfirm that Virtustream xStream VM enables us to deliver predictable SLAs and the highest quality for the broadest range of applications that IT want to run in the cloud today."

Virtustream’s IaaS cloud architecture delivers xStream cloud management software, which uses algorithms of Virtustream uVM technology, Intel Xeon processors, Cisco UCS compute platforms, scale out Cisco networking and NetApp storage architectures.

Rodney Rogers, chairman and CEO of Virtustream, added: "The need for enterprises to take advantage of cloud computing economics and agility is exploding."
