Virtus Data Centres has met energy efficiency requirements of the UK government’s Climate Change Agreement (CCA) scheme in just four weeks, with the support from energy consultancy firm Utilitywise.
The London-based company, which opened its flagship data centre, London2, in Hayes last year, said securing the agreement has ensured environmental and operational efficiency.
CCA, announced in July last year, allows the data centre sector to claim discounts from carbon taxes in exchange for installing energy efficient measures, with the aim of helping the UK meet carbon reduction targets.
