Under the agreement, Virginia will use the Sircon for States web-based solution, making it the 18th state insurance regulator to rely on Sircon software. The move will dramatically increase the number of online services Virginia provides by connecting insurance carriers, producers, education providers, brokers, agencies and state regulatory agencies through the Sircon network.

Virginia will also join the State Insurance Regulators Consortium (SIRC). The SIRC helps promote uniformity and best practices among insurance regulators and drives the co-ordination of external programs and systems that connect to the Sircon for States platform.

Gary Gummig, vice president of e-government and business development for Sircon, said: We are very pleased to work with the Commonwealth of Virginia.

We look forward to Virginia’s participation as a member of SIRC, an independent group of states that help promote best practices among state regulators and provide input for the direction of the Sircon for States product offering, he added.
