Virgin Media and movies on-demand provider, FilmFlex, have renewed their collaboration on developing new technology for Virgin Movies.

As part of the multi-year agreement, both firms will be engaged in development, rollout and management of new video-on-demand (VoD) services in addition to procurement and curating film content for Virgin Movies.

Virgin Media digital entertainment product director, Aleks Habdank, said Virgin Media is looking to develop ways to bring its customers the content whenever they want and wherever they are.

"FilmFlex, as experts in movies-on-demand, are key strategic partners for us as the growth of digital entertainment continues apace and we look forward to the next exciting chapter of working together," Habdank said.

2013 also include Virgin Media’s cloud-based entertainment service, which would allow greater choice to watch film content.

Additionally, both parties are planning to collaborate on further development of the movies-on-demand service offered on Virgin Media TiVo.

FilmFlex Movies CEO, Jeff Henry, said the collaboration will see the creation and development of brilliant new applications to evolve Virgin Movies over the coming years.

"There has never been such an exciting time for the video-on-demand business and we are delighted to be extending our relationship with Virgin Media with whom we have had a long and successful collaboration," Henry said.
