The service features over 50 live broadcast channels and allows subscribers to use their mobile phones like iPods, with an unlimited hard-drive housed on the mobile network.
Audio channels were launched on the service in May this year, with video following in June, and there are plans to release radio channels next month. Mobile subscribers to the service will pay a monthly fee of $7 to gain the programming on an unlimited basis. From May to August this year subscribers can try out the service for free.
VeeStream delivers audio and video streaming content on-demand for 2.5G and 3G network operators. It uses dynamic bandwidth adaptation (DBA), which optimizes throughput over scarce radio frequencies.
