Which is why the producers of MTV’s Loveline, a program dealing out advice on relationships, may yet regret their latest technical innovation. They have installed 8×8 Inc’s ViaTV videophones in the studio and on college campuses around the US, feeling that the face to face contact will add an exciting new visual element to the show. However, after repeated visual contact with the frustrated, the show’s agony aunts and uncles might just wish for a discorporated voice at the end of a line.
