VIDEOLOGIC WINS SECOND SEGA CONTRACT

UK chipmaker VideoLogic Group Plc has won a second major contract from Japanese electronics giant Sega Co. Sega will use VideoLogic’s PowerVR Series 2 graphics chip in its new board for arcade machines, codenamed ‘Naomi’. VideoLogic’s PowerVR 2DC chip, developed in collaboration with NEC Corp, was selected back in May as the graphics chip for Sega’s new console, Dreamcast (CI No 3,416).
