VIACOM INC AND TELE-COMMUNICATIONS IN NEGOTIATIONS

Cable television giants Viacom Inc and Tele-Communications Inc are in negotiations to create ties between the two companies that could lead to a joint venture, the Wall Street Journal reported: they are said to be talking about linking of their cable systems, and exploring alliances on pay television channels.
