Via Technologies Inc will be reviving the Cyrix M-II procesor range at Comdex next week, positioning the chips as an extremely low cost alternative to Intel Corp’s Celeron and Advanced Micro Devices Inc’s K6 range. The M-II-433 has a clock speed of 300MHz and supports a 100MHz front side bus. Via claims that it will offer performance equivalent to a 433MHz Celeron. The Taiwanese company has already said that it be showing new Cyrix processors, code named Joshua, at the Las Vegas trade fair. The new Cyrix line will run at over 500MHz and feature graphics extensions and a new level one and two design cache design.
