The Patient Account Center (vPAC) is an online patient billing application designed to streamline the hospital billing process. It was developed with the intention of speeding the collection of patient-owed fees, reducing bad debt and increasing patient convenience and satisfaction.
The application also enables online bill payment, real time updates when payments have been made, alerts when charges are posted, insurance payments are made and incentive offers are expiring, as well as web-based self help services and secure email to privately send and receive sensitive information.
The Freeman Health System anticipates that its use of the vPAC system will increase its revenue capture and profitability by minimizing human errors in the billing process and reducing staffing costs.
Patient accounts has been looking for a way to extend its customer service, and online account management is a personal, secure, and convenient option, says director of patient financial services Marion Adkins.
