Verizon Wireless customers now have the option of viewing and paying their wireless phone bills online at their choice of more than 1,700 financial services locations across the internet. Using CheckFree electronic billing and payment technology, Verizon customers can schedule payments using a designated bank account and arrange for monthly bill payments via their preferred home-banking service provider.

Millions of Americans have discovered the ease and convenience of online billing and payment, and Verizon Wireless customers now have the attractive option of handling their wireless bill the same way, commented Matt McKernan, senior vice president at CheckFree Corporation. In addition, transactions powered by CheckFree are covered by the CheckFree guarantee, which provides assurance that payments will arrive on time, as scheduled, and minimizes liability in the unlikely occurrence of fraud.

The move is reflective of the increasing trend towards the management of personal finances through online transactions.
