Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Windsor, Illinois, which will enable customers in northeast Shelby County to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; access the internet; view high-quality videos; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
The new cell site, located near the intersection of Highway 32 and Highway 16 in Windsor, improves coverage in the entire town of Windsor as well as the surrounding area, said Verizon Wireless.
According to the company, coverage is improved along Highway 32 as far north as County Road 4 (800 N) and as far south as County Road 38 (1300 N). Coverage is also improved along Highway 16 as far east as the town of Gays and as far west as Wolf Creek Road (2500 E).
TJ Fox, president for Illinois/Wisconsin region at Verizon, said: The value we offer our customers is closely tied to our industry-leading customer retention. Wireless consumers today understand that value is not defined by price alone. A major reason our customers choose Verizon Wireless and stay with us is because we offer the nation’s most reliable network.
