VERBATIM PROMISES 50Mb 3.5″ ERASABLE OPTICAL DRIVE

Eastman Kodak Co’s Verbatim Corp is to launch a line of erasable optical disk drives this autumn, reports Newsbytes. The wire quotes the company as saying that the drives will use a 3.5 removable optical platter that will store 50Mb, and is looking to price the platters at around $1 a megabyte. The drives are expected to be $800 to $1,500.
