Extensis Corp, Portland, Oregon supplier of productivity add-ons for graphics applications, has raised $2.5m in venture capital from Adobe Systems Inc’s Adobe Ventures LP and Hambrecht & Quist LLC. Extensis products include PageTools for Adobe PageMaker, QX- Tools and QX-Assistant for QuarkXPress, DrawTools for Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia FreeHand, and Intellihance for Adobe PhotoShop.
Ionica Ltd, the private Cambridge, UK company planning to offer radio-based telephone service from March 26, says it has raised more than #50m in equity finance. New shareholders are led by CWB Capital Partners, a private equity investor group. Advisers were SBC Warburg and Montgomery Securities. Ionica says it has now raised a total of #150m, but needs more expects to appoint advisors shortly for a junk bond issue in the US markets.
