Ikonic Interactive Inc, San Francisco developer of interactive software, reports a significant equity investment from CMG@Ventures, the venture capital company formed specificallty to finance business opportunities afforded by the Internet and interactive media. Ikonic provides interactive television applications and user interfaces, and will use the investment to fund development of software for the World Wide Web, commercial and private on-line services. These products will integrate with existing database and middleware technologies to organise and update large volumes of multimedia content.

Symbologic Corp, Seattle-based developer of technology for the capture, retrieval and on-line publishing of product support information, has raised $3.5m in venture capital, and says the offering was heavily oversubscribed and far exceeded the company’s initial goal of $2.25m. Participants included many prominent Seattle investors, including several former high-level Microsoft Corp executives. Also taking a minority stake in Symbologic was Tokyo-based Trans Cosmos Inc, a $300m-a-year provider of computer services. The completion of this financing brings the company’s venture capital raised to date to $6.5m. Symbologic says its mission is to help people successfully use rapidly evolving computer technology by making solutions for every computer product available on-line to every computer user. The company has 40 employees.
