Poet Software Corp, San Mateo, California object database software specialist, has landed $3.6m in venture funding from from El Dorado Ventures, Sigma Partners, Atlas Ventures of the Netherlands, European Technology Holding and Compagnie Auxiliaire Telecommunications, both of France. The cash is wanted for continued investment in product development, marketing and administration, and may also be used for additional staffing if necessary, with the potential expansion of personnel in both San Mateo and Germany and the opening of new offices in the US and major European countries. It is now part of a new US holding company, Poet Holdings Inc, which also takes in Poet Software GmbH and BKS GmbH.
