Informatica Corp, Menlo Park, California developer of the OpenBridge software for design and management data warehouses and so-called departmental datamarts – data collections that never grew up to be warehouses – reports that it has raised its initial round of funding from Bay Partners, Discovery Ventures and Partech International, the venture capital arm of the Paribas Group of France. The amount of capital contributed was not disclosed.

Xante Corp, Mobile, Alabama pre-press technologies specialist, has raised an undisclosed sum in venture capital from Sevin Rosen Funds of Dallas, its second such tranche in four months, the earlier one having come from Noro-Moseley Partners, Atlanta. The capital is wanted to help Xante continue to manage its growth and further fund research and development, marketing and sales efforts worldwide. The company develops and markets products that enhance the resolution and speed of laser printing.
