For the six months ended October 31, 2004, Welwyn Garden City, UK-based Vega reported profit after tax of 716,000 pounds ($1.3m), up from a profit of 443,000 pounds ($824,000) for the same period last year. The company also increased revenue by 16.2% to 24.5m pounds ($45.6m) after the strong performance of its defense consulting division, which grew revenue by 24.7% to 14.7m pounds ($27.4m).
The revenue figures include 852,000 pounds ($1.6m) attributed to Vega’s acquisition of Anite Systems GmbH, the space consultancy business of Anite Group Plc, for 7.5m pounds ($13.9m) last August.
