VATICAN CHOOSES ITALCABLE TO INSTALL ELECTERONIC MAIL SYSTEM

By CBR Staff Writer

The Vatican has invested in an electronic mail system to enable the Pope to minister more effectively to his parishioners – or at least be able to tap into recorded greetings that are shortly to be sent around the world: the Holy See has employed Italcable Spa, Italy’s long distance carrier, to install the system which will use a Voicemail International Inc system located at a central office – Italcable now holds a 35% stake in Voicemail International; revenues generated by the service will be shared between the Vatican and Italcable but callers will not be charged more than the price of the call itself.
