It sounds like bad news that value-added tax is going on phone bills in France, but in fact it is good news: the bills stay the same, but 18.6% is new deemed to be VAT, re-claimable by 3m business users; the Direction Ge’ne’rale de Te’le’communic-ations says the move is intended to encourage businesses to increase their use of the telephone network.
