Vasco lends authentication system to Italian bank

Italian bank Banca Nazionale del Lavoro will use the Digipass GO3 authentication token from Belgian company Vasco to secure its customers' internet and telephone banking transactions.

Vasco said the technology will safeguard direct banking services at the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (BNL) by generating a single-use password for accessing online applications.

Lorenzo Marini, general manager of BNL direct services, said: Our account holders will be able to perform secure banking transactions without any changes to their PC, mobile phone or telephone.

The Digipass GO3 product is integrated into TrustAccess, an authentication and security service developed by Italian security provider Actalis.
