“VARIETY” OF WORDS

Datamation could be said to take itself a little too seriously, and Computer Weekly could do with a little livening, so we’re delighted at the news that Reed International, which publishes both, is to add the legend of lively and irreverent journalism, Variety, to its stable: many of the snappy headline words that have passed into the language of journalism were originated by Variety, which also came up with infanticipating for preggers and praiseries for PR companies – and even originated the single-sentence structure that we use in Minigrams.
