Vantive Corp has released version 4 of Vantive Enterprise, its high-end customer information application. This version includes Vantive Sales, a client-server application for sales and marketing; a common data model for integrating applications across a company’s various operations; an application programming interface to client-server and legacy applications; and support for Visual Basic for Applications scripting. It currently runs on Sybase SQL Server and Oracle 7 on Unix systems with Windows, Motif and Macintosh clients and supports HP OpenView. Support for Sybase System 10, Oracle 7.1 and SQL relational databases is planned for June. Prices start at $55,000 per module for a 10 concurrent user licence.
