Vanguard University of Southern California has selected Datatel to create a Strategic Academic Enterprise that will support the institution’s planning through data-driven decision making and attract exceptional students.
Datatel said that the newly acquired Datatel technology and professional services will replace a SunGard Higher Education system used by the university. The university has licensed Datatel Colleague, a technology system designed to manage and improve departmental workflows, business processes, productivity, and efficiency across the Strategic Academic Enterprise.
The University has also licensed Datatel ActiveAdmissions, an e-recruitment system that transforms institutional websites into a personalized and engaging enrollment tool.
End-users at the university will access campus-wide information and resources using Datatel ActiveCampus Portal, a web-based workgroup collaboration and social networking system. Built on Microsoft SharePoint technology, ActiveCampus Portal is claimed to provide a single point of access across the Strategic Academic Enterprise.
John Robeck, IT project manager of Vanguard University, said: Datatel did a thorough evaluation of how Vanguard does business, and then demonstrated how it could help improve our processes using its products and services. IT did this by providing a solution that was of great value and the biggest bang for the buck.
